Django is an instalment payment app that lets users connect their bank accounts, analyse their transactions and pay for purchases in several instalments. It was built on the foundations of the Joe app. Once La Banque Postale acquired it, the product had to be restructured to scale with a much larger organisation. As Joe's founding engineer, Alassane onboarded more than 10 senior developers and product owners. He organised the tech and product teams around clear functional domains and delivered a full rebrand from Joe to Django in under a month. On the technical side, he led the move to a scalable architecture: a database redesigned from hundreds of tables into a clean schema-per-domain model, a JavaScript-to-TypeScript migration, an Nx monorepo with a modular monolith, Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design, and test-driven, event-driven development.
